Show #20: Harry Chapin

September 20th, 2005

This show is for my buddy Ed who specifically requested some Harry Chapin. It’s a good chunk of his performance from 18 January 1981 at The Bottom Line in New York City. It was Chapin’s 2000th gig and was broadcast on WNEW. What we have here comes from a rebroadcast of the show shortly after Chapin’s death. N.B. – there was a tape flip involved in this recording so “Better Place to Be” fades out and “Mr. Tanner” fades in. Ed – don’t say I never did nothin’ for ya. To my regular listeners – I promise to post a show by someone still alive soon.

Setlist:

Taxi
Up on a Shelf
Story of a Life
I Miss America
Mercinaries
Better Place to Be
Mr. Tanner
