Show #24: Dirty Three

The Dirty Three are playing at the Cabaret Metro this Friday so I'm posting some of their stuff. The show at hand was recorded on 7 June 1998 at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver. The band are, as the name implies, a trio from Australia consisting of violin, guitar, and drums. I saw them open for Man or Astro Man? here in Madtown about 8 or 9 years ago at the East End. Warren Ellis, the violin player took pulls from a bottle of Jack Daniels throughout the show which made for an intense performance. I recall him going apeshit-bonkers during "Sue's Last Ride". It is rumored that this recording was done with the intention of being released officially but was shelved for some reason.
