Show #28 – Wilco

November 6th, 2005

Since Jeff Tweedy was here in Madison over the weekend, I’m putting up some of Wilco’s performance when they were here last fall. (You can read a review of the Tweedy show over at Muzzle of Bees.) I’ve seen them a couple times with the most recent being this past spring at the Vic in Chicago. It was the last of a series of concerts the band was filming for a DVD release which has been cancelled. The first time was at Summerfest in 1996. Unfortunately, I don’t remember most of that show due to a bout with John Barleycorn, but I clearly recall Tweedy threatening Ted Nugent who was playing on another stage. I’ve got a copy of this show and hearing the “tirade” never fails to amuse me.

The show at hand was recorded on 27 October 2004 at the Orpheum Theater right here in Madison, WI.
