As a follow-up to the documentary on klezmer I’ve had up the past couple weeks, I present half of a show by the New Orleans Klezmer Allstars. While they don’t strictly play traditional klezmer, there’s a bit of it mixed in with some funk, jazzy bits, and more rock-like passages as well – a musical gumbo, if you’ll pardon the cliche.
This performance was recorded on 18 March 2000 at the Comfort Zone in Toronto, Ontario.

I haven’t heard these guys in a while. They played the High Sierra Music Festival a few years back and joined in with Hypnotic Clambake. Great stuff. I look forward to downloading a few more shows.
Thanks for dropping by! Hope you find something you like. Take care ~~ P
