Grammy Overview on NPR

February 2nd, 2006

National Public Radio’s All Songs Considered has a rundown of some Grammy nominees in its latest show. While I’ve heard of most of the nominees discussed, I haven’t heard any of the songs that were nominated. I’m listening to the podcast version of the show now and I have to say that the music so far is for shite. R&B just ain’t what it used to be. Someone has sampled Ray Charles and made an atrocious tune around a classic. And why was Mariah Carey nominated for anything? I’m gonna fast forward to the bit about Merle Haggard.
