Belew "Crowd Surfs"

According to Adrian Belew's webpage, he did a little crowd surfing last night at a gig in Richmond, Australia.

If you missed Adrian Belew's Corner Hotel gig last night (with the fantastic Josh Owen Band as support) you missed Adrian crowd surfing with hundreds of ecstatic punters!

Apparently this report is a bit misleading. Check out a fan's description of what happened:

...at the end of the Corner Hotel show...Adrian was 'shaking hands' with the crowd. He lent forward to touch people further back. Possibly deliverately (has he ever done this before?) he leaned / fell into the crowd and was supported by their hands.

What I am sure he did not expect, is that those at the very front picked up his legs, and his slightly falling foward moved his body out into the crowd. Eventually the bass player asked for us to pass him back as "we need him tomorrow night".

The scene was captured for posterity:

See, prog-rockers aren't just a bunch of stuffy and staid old farts.
