Adrian Belew’s Side Three was released this past Tuesday. I am listening to it right now and, after just a couple listens, I can say that I’m really enjoying it so far. It grows on me a bit more with each spin. The lead track, “Trouble”, is a nice little shuffle with some trademark guitar. “Incompetence Indifference” almost has a hip-hop beat and features one of Belew’s great story-lyrics. “Whatever” and “Men in Helicopters V4.0″ mark the return of Tool drummer Danny Carey and Primus bassist Les Claypool who both contributed to Side One. Good stuff! Adrian is currently touring Down Under but will return to the States in early July. As of now, he has only 3 U.S. dates announced including one in Chicago on 8 July at the Double Door.
Milwaukee progsters Kopecky have signed to the Canadian label Unicorn Digital who will release the band’s fifth effort, Blood, next month.
Roger Waters will be touring the States this fall with a show that promises a new & improved rendition of Dark Side of the Moon. It doesn’t look like there’ll be a Wisconsin performance and the closest gig will be in Chicago on 29 September at the First Midwest Band Amphitheatre. No clue where the hell that is.
The 12 May episode of Late Night with Conan O’Brien will feature Wilco as the show will be taping in Chicago.
