Far Corner CD Release Party

Next month Shank Hall in Milwaukee will host some homegrown progressive rock. The occasion is the CD release party for classical chamber rock quartet, Far Corner whose third album, Endangered is set for release on the 16th of this month. The band is comprised of Dan Maske on keys, bassist William Kopecky, cellist Angela Schmidt, and Craig Walkner on all manner of percussion. I've heard a couple of their songs and they were quite good. In a live context, they dish out equal doses of composed pieces and improvisation.

Endangered can be ordered from Wayside Music which is $4 cheaper than Amazon.

Opening for Far Corner will be Strange Land, a "melodic neo-progressive power-trio" from Milwaukee. I don't know much about them, truth be told, and have never heard their music.

The gig is on 16 February starting @ 8PM. Let's see, that's a...holy fecal matter! That's a Friday! How often do relatively unknown prog bands get a Friday night slot? I hope to be able to make the show and mingle with my fellow progheads - not something I get to do very often.
