Show #103: 15" Per Second
It has been well over a year since I posted a documentary up here so I'm going to throw one up today.

It's called "Fifteen Inches Per Second: A Radio Celebration of Quarter-Inch Magnetic Tape" and was from the BBC. I checked their website's archives and it's gone so I'm posting it here. The program is fairly short at a half hour but it is really interesting. We hear about how the Germans invented it and used it to broadcast Hitler's speeches which led to English authorities being flummoxed as to how the broadcasts could be of such great fidelity. Then the war ended and the Allies got their hands on the technology. From there, recorded sound was revolutionized.
