As Long As We're On the Subject of Polka…

April 19th, 2007

Earlier this week I reviewed the movie It’s Happiness: A Polka Documentary. Interviewed for it was Rick March of the Wisconsin Arts Board. He was responsible for assembling the Smithsonian Folkways release Deep Polka and its follow-up, the aptly named Deeper Polka.

March will be leading a discussion about polka on Friday, 27 April at the Polish Center of Wisconsin at 6941 S. 68th Street in Franklin. The program begins at 7:00 p.m. For details call (414) 529-2140. There will apparently also be dancing as well. I don’t have my handbill in front of me but I believe that admission is $5.
