New Documentary on Sacred Harp Singing

There is a new documentary Sacred Harp or shape note singing called Awake, My Soul. Here’s the trailer:

I don’t think there’s been any shape note singing here in Madison for a few years. A group used to meet downtown and I attended a singing back in 2002/2003 but there were only about 4 people in attendance. Hopefully I’ll be able to hit a singing in Chicago sometime and do a little story on it. Perhaps they’ll even let me record some audio.
