2007 is winding down and no doubt many of you are preparing to welcome the new year in classic fashion. To help you along, we have a New Year’s Eve show from 53 years ago featuring the great Louis Armstrong.

If you’re not familiar with Satchmo, as Armstrong was called, then follow the link to Sony’s webpage about the man to read up and learn. Even if you don’t know much about him, you probably know “What a Wonderful World”. It’s been used in countless films and TV shows as well as the end music for the first Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy radio series.

This is Louis Armstrong & The Allstars at the Downbeat Club in San Francisco on New Year’s Eve 1954. It is a short set which was broadcasted by CBS Radio.
