I’m having a devil of a time finding much information about The Bulgarian Voices Angelite. Most of the info I find simply says that they’re a women’s choir from Bulgaria and that they have wonderful voices. It seems that they formed in the mid-1980s and started to gain popularity once the Cold War took its curtain call. I see that in 1995 they collaborated with Huun Huur Tu. That must be interesting.
Rather than struggling to find any more information about this remarkable group of singers, let me instead urge you to simply listen to them. Their voices are simply beautiful and they produce some truly ethereal music that is alternately soothing and uplifting.
This show was recorded on 5 October 2009 in Bremen, Germany. It was broadcast on German radio.

Here they are performing “Gospodi pomiloi” in Iceland in 2006.
