Girls Rock Camp Opens in Madison

June 18th, 2010

The first Girls Rock Camp here in Madison is being held this week. The Wisconsin State Journal has an article up about it.

Welcome to the first Girls Rock Camp in Madison, an intensive week long rock ‘n’ roll clinic in which local female musicians are teaching girls to write rock songs, practice their instruments and otherwise prove that playing face-melting rock tunes isn’t just for boys.

On Friday, the seven bands in the Madison camp will record the songs they’ve been working on all week, and on Sunday afternoon, they’ll all perform live on stage at one of the city’s premiere rock clubs, the High Noon Saloon.

Sounds like a hoot.

The showcase starts at 2. Cover is $5.
