The Doctor vs. Progressive Rock

After looking around this blog it shouldn’t surprise you to know that, in addition to being a progressive rock fan, I’m a Doctor Who fan as well. Not only do I love the TV show but also the audio dramas produced by Big Finish. (Where subscribers get more!)

One of the DW releases for December is The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories which is comprised of four 30-minute plays. One of them is called “The Entropy Composition” and is described thusly:

A lost prog rock symphony is unearthed from the vaults – with catastrophic consequences for the entire cosmos.

I am looking forward to this one. It will be hilarious to hear the 5th Doctor pondering how prog could take out the whole universe. Does the symphony contain a chord change so complex that the cosmos just can’t contain it? Perhaps a Mellotron was used that had a tape of some Cthulhu cult member reading from the Necronomicon on it. Are the lyrics comprised of a Kobaïan death spell?

We’ll have to wait until December to find out.
