The Black Roots of Vaudeville in Chicago

The African-American roots of Vaudeville will be on display at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music starting next Thursday when The Black Roots of Vaudeville” opens for a five-day run.

Follow the GRAMMY-winning string band Carolina Chocolate Drops, along with jazz tap virtuoso Reggio “The Hoofer” McLaughlin and ragtime piano ace Reginald Robinson, as they explore Vaudeville’s African American heritage through music and dance to reclaim the spirit and substance of this rich taproot of American entertainment.
