This week I am posting various shows related to the “Smart Sounds, Alt Music, Mad Scenes” exhibit at the Wisconsin Historical Museum which looks at the alternative/hardcore scene in the Madison during the 1980s and 90s.

This is Sonic Youth recorded on 8 August 1985 at the Wil-Mar Center here in Madison. At least I’m pretty sure that’s where the gig was.
